San Diego Independent School District teachers will see a pay increase next year. The Board of Trustees approved the new pay scale at the board meeting held April 27, 2022.
The board of trustees unanimously passed the 2023 teacher compensation plan, which will give first year teachers an increase of $1,900. With this increase, the starting salary for a beginning teacher will be $52,000. A new teacher with no experience currently gets $50,100. All teachers are guaranteed at least an increase of $500 plus their step in pay when returning to San Diego ISD in 2022-2023 school year. Dr. Rodrigo H.
